AUDI R8 LMS EVO 2 IMOLA HYMO ANALYSIS
The Track
Officially known as the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari, the legendary circuit in Italy has hosted Formula 1 from 1980-2006 and from 2020-2022 and returns again in 2024.
It has seen some iconic, but also tragic moments over its 70-year history, most notably the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix weekend when three-time Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna and up-and-comer Roland Ratzenberger lost their lives.
It also saw Didier Pironi overtake Gilles Villeneuve on the final lap of the 1982 race in controversial circumstances.
While a titanic battle for victory was fought between Fernando Alonso and Michael Schumacher in 2005.
It is an old school F1 track, fast, tight and with little room for error Fortunately however, HYMO has you covered and you can get the very same setup used in this session HERE.
Analysis
When comparing the HYMO lap with a community lap in the Track Titan platform, we can see that the community driver loses +0.185s around Variante Villeneuve, the fast left to right chicane that is closely aligned by gravel traps there to punish you for any unforced error.
Racing Line
Although the community driver broke later and carried more speed around the left-hander it has compromised the right-hander and therefore the whole sequence of turns.
Despite actually being faster around the first part of the chicane, the community driver has suffered badly on the change of direction and on the exit of the corner has bled a lot of time in comparison to the HYMO driver, losing nearly 0.25s in just two corners and continues to lose time all the way to the left-handed hairpin.
Throttle
As the community driver compromises their line in the right-hander, you can see them fighting to get back to 100% throttle as soon as possible. The HYMO driver is smoothly straight to 100% throttle due to taking a wider approach into the right-hander less steering angle can be applied making for an easier throttle application.

Track Titan Top Tips
As in this instance above, when negotiating a chicane, it is often faster to sacrifice time in the first part of the chicane to get a better exit out of the corner which helps the top speed down the next straight.
If you carry more speed into the first part, you will lose this time and more in the second half of the chicane.
