Weekly Track Titan Update

CW 39 Weekly Track Titan Update

Welcome back to another weekly update for a week in which we had one of the rare days of having (almost) everyone at the office for one of our quarterly workshops/socials. Whilst we have an office in Shoreditch, London, the team is spread out between London, Leeds, Worcester, Bath and as far as Belgium and Austria. We try to bring everyone or at least most of us together in person once a quarter and we find that a) this leads to much better and more productive discussions about how to improve Track Titan and b) beer tastes much better when you drink it together in person.

Here are a few pics of the afternoon/evening. Workshop first, then dinner followed by "Electric Shuffle" which - given our team's nature - definitely wasn't competitive at all (Alex' face usually isn't as annoying but since our team demolished the other one, he shall be excused for this one).

As you can see, our Community Manager Keith loves the sim so much he even takes meetings in it and or Full-Stack Engineer and former GT Academy winner and pro racing driver is so quick that Google Meet can't seem to capture him properly.

Enough pics, now over to the real stuff that impacts you directly (even though us strategising and having fun together will do eventually; just maybe not this week).

Calendar Week 39 Update:

We had a great week with some (hopefully) exciting updates for you in various areas.

Much, much faster setup shop

We heard from some of you that loading setups took too long and we rebuilt the shop from scratch and as Charlie from Hymo put it, it's now "miles faster". We hope it's noticeable for all of you so that you can check out the latest Hymo setups instantly. This will go live tomorrow (26 Sep) after some final testing.

Video track guides
Our second-best ever week in terms of new track guides with a ton more posted for both iRacing and ACC. Next week should be even better!

  • Total track guides posted on Youtube as of yesterday: 1,215
  • Total guides posted last week: 159

AC Track Guides are coming

We know that many many of you are still massive fans of AC and even with AC Evo coming, we believe AC 1 is here to stay. It's a different game so making sure we can overlay our data insights on the onboards nicely takes work but we're very close to launching our first AC guide. Watch this space!

Better driving quality assessment

Lap time is the ultimate metric to look at but we want to give you a bit more granular feedback on your driving quality. For instance, you might be five seconds off the pace but if you manage to complete a really smooth lap at this pace just by being a bit slower everywhere rather than having big blunders, we want to a) tell you that so you are aware and b) explain specifically in which way you do it and how you can improve further. We will also use this to improve our track guides further and want to eventually have different types of guides (beginner, intermediate, pro, and so on).

Another thing we are looking at is identifying elevation changes, bumps and camber in corners so we can highlight these important aspects that impact how you should approach a corner and what you can expect.

Did you know, for instance, that a car will tend to oversteer in an uphill corner? If we see that you keep oversteering in such corners, we want to make you aware of this immediately; hence why a lot of tech work is going into exactly that.

Two very exciting secret projects

I love sharing these updates with you publicly but let's face it, competitors do read them (which is great, by the way). Can't tell you much yet but we are working on two pretty big and exciting initiatives in the background that will make Track Titan much bigger, more unique and more valuable to you and many that aren't yet part of our 100k+ community of passionate simracers.

Here's a hint for one of them: We're taking competitiveness in simracing to a whole new level.
