Weekly Track Titan Update

CW 41 Weekly Track Titan Update

A new week with a new, strange cover photo. If you think we have completely lost it, you may not be wrong but there is a point behind the photo choice: For the first time last week, Track Titan users (i.e. you!) have recorded more than 90k laps on Track Titan in a single day. Keep in mind many users switch off recording to preserve their 50 free laps each month so the actual number will be even higher but it's great to see this milestone of processed laps on TT.

Community Manager and AC legend Keith (who many of you know) posted a 90s music GIF on our internal company Slack to celebrate it so here you go; you can blame him.

Another big milestone to celebrate and with all other numbers also at record levels (we are already 25% up on early September in terms of user activity) Let's get into what we were up to in the previous week and what's ahead.

Calendar Week 41 Update:

Video track guides
Our third-best week in terms of posting new guides which is decent but given there are millions of combos on different sims out there, we want to definitely have one record week after another for this.

  • Total track guides posted on YouTube as of yesterday: 1,597
  • Total new guides posted last week: 177

To make that happen, we are working on a few things (driving more, driving better, making the process to add insights to videos faster, cheaper, etc.)

A question for you: What would you say constitutes a good enough lap for a track guide?

Is 10s off the pace fast enough? Of course not. Do you need an esports level lap to help amateurs see what line to take? Probably not. We are thinking about where the right cut off point is and what is important for you in a track guide. Line, pace, technique, something else? Please let us know via email/discord. New quick tips to optimise your corner exit

We are working on the core of Track Titan - good driving insights - every day and I wanted to take the chance to call out one new really useful one no matter how fast you are: Straightening your corner exit.

Having the car more rotated for a more straight-line exit is crucial to get to full throttle earlier. You can see an example of the new quick tip in action below. Keep in mind both laps here are at a very high level but look how even a slightly more curved line on exit causes a delay in getting to full throttle. Hoping it helps you as well! :)

Not so fun: Kicking out abusers

We had this last week and as always, people get creative but a) we now handle most abusers and b) we know what to do to get rid of the rest. Once again, this is all to ensure a sustainable Track Titan platform and community. If you are one of those abusers, here is an actual picture of Keith's reaction (okay, maybe not actually him):

Secret project number one moving from the test to the build phase

We recently talked about two secret projects. These remain secret for now but one of them has now finished its initial test phase and we have started the actual work of incorporating it into the core TT platform! All I can say is: Be excited, it will be awesome for all of us. Once it's public, you'll see where a lot of work recently and in the next weeks will have gone into.
