Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 Monza Hot Lap Analysis

Let’s take a look at this hot lap of Monza in a Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo 2 driven by HYMO.

The Track

Monza, commonly referred to as the ‘Temple of Speed’ is one of the fastest race tracks in the world with long straights connecting tricky and infamous corners including the ultra-fast Ascari Chicane and Curva Alboreto, but also incredibly slow corners. It’s a tough track to master but HYMO have you covered, and you can get the very same setup used in this hot lap video HERE.

Opened in 1922 the Italian Circuit is one of the oldest in the world, the circuit has had many changes over the years, but the essence of the circuit remains the same. The venue has hosted more Formula 1 races than any other, only falling off the calendar once back in 1980. The current circuit iteration is 3.6M (5.793km) long with 11 turns.

Analysis

When analysing this HYMO lap against a community lap in the Track Titan platform, we can see that into the Variante 1 (the first chicane), the community driver loses 0.336s compared to the HYMO driver who holds the Track Titan Official Lap time. In looking at the data, the majority of the time loss is in the heavy braking zone towards Turn 1.

A look at the community lap in the Track Titan platform

Braking

The community driver is earlier on the brakes heading into Turn 1, this means that they have scrubbed off to much speed before the apex and have to start to modulate the brake pedal in order to hit the apex. It also means that the community driver has reached its minimum speed to early and makes the second turn to tight.

Throttle

Mid-corner the community driver is playing with the throttle, while the Track Titan official lap driver is silky smooth and slightly earlier on the throttle out of the left hander. This enables him to carry more speed out of the corner and all the way down the next long straight, as you can see the margin between the two coming out of the corner gets larger and larger.

Track Titan Top Tips

The exit of the corner is always more important than the entry, if you carry to much speed into the turn, you will run wide or potentially off the track. This not only affects the corner you are in, but the exit and the run all the way to the next turn.

Getting to 100% throttle as soon as possible is key, again if you are on and off the power this will cost you time all the way to the next corner, get to 100% as soon as you can and stay there.
